Ms. VonVillas has been working in the counseling field since she
received her
Bachelor’s degree in 1993 and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from
Rhode Island College in 1999. She counsels adults, children, and
families
and is experienced working with a multitude of mental health issues
including depression, anxiety, self-esteem/body issues, self-harm,
family or marital issues and blended family issues. She enjoys working
with all ages and has worked extensively with pre-teens, teens, and
young adults.
She believes in solution focused therapy. Ultimately people, no matter
the
age, all seek counseling for the same reason, to feel better. Therapy
does, and should always, focus on this goal of feeling better and
consist of concrete evidence based ways people can work to make
positive change happen in their lives. "Therapy works and I am always a
bit humbled to have been gifted with the opportunity to watch people
improve themselves and their life circumstances. Change how you think
and you change your world”.
